Orange Is the New Black star Uzo Aduba has been announced as Heifer International's first celebrity ambassador to Africa, and will act as an advocate for the charity's mission 'to end world hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth and lifting small-scale farmers to living incomes'.

The Emmy Award winner commented 'I have tremendous faith in this organisation and their desire to help change the lives of those living below the poverty line. What makes Heifer different is simply this: they look to offer those they serve with a hand up, not a hand out'.
